FAQs

  • ABA therapy, or Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, is a scientific, evidence-based approach used primarily to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental conditions. It focuses on understanding and modifying behavior by applying principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors, such as communication, social skills, and daily living skills, while reducing problematic behaviors like aggression or self-injury.

  • Look for Developmental or Behavioral Signs: Consider ABA if your child shows:

    • Communication Challenges: Limited speech, difficulty expressing needs, or trouble understanding language.

    • Social Skill Deficits: Struggles with interacting with peers, sharing, or understanding social cues.

    • Repetitive Behaviors: Engaging in repetitive actions (e.g., hand-flapping, lining up objects) or rigid routines.

    • Challenging Behaviors: Frequent tantrums, aggression, self-injury, or difficulty transitioning between activities.

    • Learning Difficulties: Trouble acquiring new skills, such as self-care, academic tasks, or following instructions.
